Balcony II by Philippe Ramette
Thank you so much to commentor marlperr from my post on Tim Walker’s Hermes campaign for bringing Philippe Ramette to my attention and perking up an otherwise boring day on the Internet (is that possible? apparently so). There’s no question that Tim Walker drew inspiration from this photograph by Ramette. There’s very little on the web about him, but from what I’ve gathered so far, he is a French photographer who’s been taking these perspective-bending photos since the early 90’s. His photos are all real performances—no Photoshop effects whatsoever.
Here’s a post I found from the blog wordofmouth with some more details on Ramette: Philippe Ramette & The Mundane Fantastic.

Nope, doesn’t help to turn your monitor 90-degrees counterclockwise either. (Balcony II by Philippe Ramette)
